WEEK 1 PHOTOGRAPHY

West Block: This is my favourite picture. I knew what I was going to take a photo of in the west block straight away. I noticed this window the first time I was walking up the old steps of the building, and loved how the ivy was creeping up and coming inside through the window. My favourite part of the picture is the worn out look and the colours of the dark windowsill and ivy contrasting against the sunlight coming through.

The Main Entrance: I feel this picture reflects the busy college life perfectly, with the students unaware of the picture being taken, engaged in their own thoughts, entering and leaving the building.

Student Services: I like the composition of the photo, and how it captures the way I feel about student services, with the dull white walls, the clock simbolising time going slowly and neat information board -  dim, slightly edgeless and unimaginative.

The library: I had to take this photo in my favourite part of the library, the photography section! And I love the vintage feel of the books, the way the picture shows they are slightly worn-out and have obviously been read over and over by so many different students.

The Dome: In this picture I wanted to capture the hight of the dome, but while I was doing this someone else was also taking a similar picture, so I moved behind him and love the idea of capturing someone else taking a photo in the picture.
